The track will be released later in 2023, although technically it’s an old song from a 1990s demo session. Sir Paul McCartney revealed the news this week as well as the role AI technology played in the process of creating it. “They were able to extricate John’s voice from a ropey little bit of cassette. We had John’s voice and a piano and he could separate them with AI. They tell the machine. ‘That’s the voice. This is a guitar. Lose the guitar’,” McCartney told the BBC. But AI in music isn’t without its pitfalls – being such new tech it’s almost totally unregulated – and LCCM Principal Anthony Hamer-Hodges made multiple media appearances on the BBC, LBC and even GB News to discuss in depth.
