Nominations for the industry's most prestigious awards for songwriting and composing have been announced across nine categories including Songwriter of the Year, Best Contemporary Song, Best Original Scores for Film, Television and Video Games, and the Rising Star Award with Apple Music.
Adele, Ed Sheeran (him again), Dave, Coldplay and Raye are all in the running for Songwriter of the Year. Dean ‘Inflo’ Josiah Cover (the genius producer behind mysterious R&B collective Sault) leads with four nominations, closely followed by Ed Sheeran who is nominated for three awards. A total of 77 incredible talents have been recognised including Little Simz, Sam Fender, Jonny Greenwood, Laura Mvula, Rag’n’Bone Man, Ella Henderson, FKA twigs, Elton John, Steve Mac, Johnny McDaid and PinkPantheress.
