From LCCM to Spotify, student Sewor Okudzeto’s Afro Soul Stories podcast celebrates African heritage and creativity with new weekly episodes.
LCCM student Sewor Okudzeto has been busy building something that goes beyond the classroom. Back in August, he launched Afro Soul Stories, a weekly podcast that celebrates African heritage through music and open conversation. Each episode brings together artists, musicians, and cultural figures for honest, unfiltered chats about creativity, identity, and the journeys that shape them.
Meet Sewor
Born in the USA and raised between the UK and West Africa, Sewor Okudzeto has always carried a mix of musical influences with him. From playing in soul and funk bands in London to producing in West Africa, his sound has been shaped by both continents. Alongside his studies at LCCM, he’s spent over a decade working with artists through his own label, Sakora Records, blending African rhythms with neo-soul, funk, jazz, and downtempo soundscapes.
For Sewor, collaboration is everything: “I love working with artists from all backgrounds, infusing culture, truth and honesty into the creative process.”
About Afro Soul Stories
At its heart, Afro Soul Stories is a space for real conversation. Every week, Sewor sits down with creatives from music, art, and culture to dig into the experiences that have shaped their work.
Guests so far have included artists like Lemzi, Zoka the Author, Love Itoya, and Zamar Eden, each bringing their own take on creativity and identity. Whether it is lyricism on the global stage or memories of Ghana, the conversations always stay rooted in lived experience.
With new episodes landing weekly, listeners get a steady stream of fresh stories from across the African diaspora and beyond, hearing directly from artists shaping culture today and carving out new futures.
Power and Pride in Practice
With its focus on heritage, honesty, and creative expression, Afro Soul Stories naturally resonates with this year’s Black History Month UK theme, “Standing Firm in Power and Pride.” Each episode gives artists and creatives space to share personal stories that carry both vulnerability and strength, turning identity into a source of expression.
At LCCM, we love shouting about students who take their ideas beyond the classroom and make them real. Sewor’s journey is proof that when passion meets collaboration and creativity, it can grow into something that connects with people and makes an impact in the industry.
The Afro Soul Stories podcast is ongoing, with new episodes dropping every week.
