LCCM has partnered with independent music distributor Ditto to offer students exclusive access to their annual event, Ditto X: Meet the Music Industry. Now in its fifth year, the event returns to The O2 on 20th November with a full day of panels, workshops and industry-led sessions.
About Ditto
Ditto is an independent music distribution and services company working with thousands of artists worldwide. They support emerging and established musicians through distribution, label services and career development initiatives.
Ditto X is designed to give independent artists direct access to music professionals, practical insights and networking opportunities. As part of the collaboration with LCCM, several students will be working behind the scenes in a range of work-experience roles, while others have bagged free or discounted guest tickets to attend on the day.
About the Event
Ditto X brings together artists, producers, managers and music companies for a day of panels, talks and workshops. Speakers include industry insiders from BBC Radio, Sky, ITV Studios, Vevo and YouTube, along with other guests from across the music business.
The event is designed to give emerging musicians and creatives a clearer look at the current music landscape, with practical sessions focused on areas such as streaming, sync, playlisting and career development.
Here’s what’s happening on the day:
- Panels & Discussions: sessions exploring topics like audience growth, streaming strategies, sync placement and playlist opportunities.
- Feedback Sessions: opportunities for ticket holders to apply for short, face-to-face feedback slots with DJs, tastemakers and artists.
- Networking: opportunities to meet industry professionals, artists and peers.
- Industry Market: a dedicated space featuring music brands, organisations and societies from across the UK.
Student Work Experience
As part of the LCCMxDitto partnership, 10 LCCM students have been selected to support the event in a range of work-experience roles including event running, departmental assistant roles, content capture support, and general production tasks.
This is a chance to observe how a large-scale industry event is organised and delivered, gaining firsthand insight into the workflows and responsibilities behind it.
