A group of 15 LCCM students will be heading to BAFTA on 25th November for an exclusive, invite-only music law session hosted by Moore SGD. The event brings together emerging artists, producers and industry guests for a practical look at publishing, recording agreements and the early steps of building a career in music.
About Moore SGD
The Moore SGD Law firm is part of the wider Moore Kingston Smith network and specialises in music, media and entertainment. Their team includes long-standing expert Statham Gill Davies (SGD), who collectively represent global artists, independent producers, DJs and emerging talent.
Moore SGD focuses on helping creatives understand the legal frameworks that shape their work including contracts and publishing rights as well as offering guidance on building a supportive team around artists.
The Event at BAFTA
The upcoming session at BAFTA will give students direct and rare access to Moore SGD’s specialist lawyers as they break down some of the most important areas for early-career creatives.
The event will cover:
Recording and publishing: the essentials behind how rights, royalties and agreements actually work.
Building a team: understanding who you need around you.
Career progress: practical steps for developing your creative work with confidence.
Common legal pitfalls: the things emerging artists often overlook when starting out.
Sessions like this offer a real chance for students to learn directly from specialist lawyers and sit in on conversations that many creatives don’t hear until much later on.
