Every artist’s story starts somewhere, and for many of our students, it began at an LCCM Open Day. Whether you’re an aspiring performer, producer, composer or talent manager, the day is designed to give you a real taste of what it’s like to study here, and where life in the heart of London’s music scene could take you. With our next Open Day taking place on Saturday 22nd November, we thought it about time we delved into exactly what to expect.
Explore the Music Box
Our Open Days are held at our home, The Music Box, a purpose-built creative space in the heart of London’s South Bank. Across six floors, you’ll find soundproof rehearsal rooms, digital piano suites, recording studios, and edit rooms – all designed to level up your future in music.
You’ll also find our Venue + Bar, an underground live music space where the LCCM community comes together to perform and showcase student talent in front of real audiences. It’s also home to Music Industry Mondays with special guests, open mic nights, events and mixers that bring students, staff and alumni together.
On Open Days, you’ll join guided tours of our spaces, see the studios in action and catch a glimpse of what it’s really like to study here.

Meet the People
LCCM Open Days are all about getting immersed in our community spirit. You’ll meet tutors, students and graduates who are all active in the industry – living and breathing all things music.
You might chat with Pat Cotton, Programme Leader for Music Performance & Production, who’s played Glastonbury and worked with artists like The Levellers. Or meet Oliver Betts, our Sound Engineering expert whose credits include GTA V, Guitar Hero and sessions at Abbey Road. You may also cross paths with Steve McCarthy, who leads Music Business Management and has managed renowned artists, or Spencer Enock, Programme Leader for Commercial Music, bringing his experience as a songwriter and producer.
You’ll also meet our students, who are always up for a chat about what studying here is really like. Those conversations are often the best part of the day, and the people you meet might just end up being future bandmates, collaborators or friends for life.
Experience LCCM
Throughout Open Day, you’ll have the chance to get stuck into sessions focused on your chosen interest, whether that’s performance, production, music business or our Masters options. You might watch a live demo in one of our studios, join a workshop with one of our tutors, and round it off with a chat with current students in the bar. Our recruitment team will also be around if you’ve got questions about courses or next steps.
If you’re ready to level up your future in music, come and see what makes our community different, and find out where your journey could begin.
Our next Open Day is on 22nd November, with more dates added regularly. Book your place ahead of our new intake in January 2026.
