HOW TO AUDITION
Your audition for the LCCM is a chance to show us your passion for music, your current abilities, and your potential to grow within our supportive learning environment. We want to see your commitment to starting a career in the music industry. Think of this as an opportunity to share a snapshot of where you are right now on your journey. This could involve showing your interest or experience in live performance, songwriting, production or music industry projects you’ve been involved in.

Six Tips on How to Prepare for Your Audition with LCCM.
Preparing for your audition well in advance is that best way to ensure that your audition goes well. We at LCCM wanted to give you some additional tips on how to best prepare for your audition.
- Punctuality: Arrive to your audition on time.
- Know the course you have applied for (The interviewer will ask) know the course you want to apply to inside and out.
- Know your story: highlight key points about your musical background.
- Listen and respond authentically (This is a conversation, not a quiz).
- Professionalism matters: keep your answers professional and to the point.
- Stay positive and relaxed.
What to Prepare for Your Audition
For each degree there are different audition requirements for what you might need to prepare for your auditions
- Bmus Production & Performance (including foundation)/Bmus Composition for Film & Other media: 2 contrasted live performances (originals, covers) to be performed live on campuys or sent to assessor if online.
- Commercial Music: 2 pieces of music (soundcloud, spotify, live), can be performed live if audition on campus.
- Commercial Music with Foundation: 1 pieces of music (soundcloud, spotify, live), can be performed live if audition on campus.
- Music Business & Management: no portfolio requested.
- MMus Production/MMus Performance: 2 pieces of music (soundcloud, spotify, live), can be performed live if audition on campus.
What Format Is My Audition?
The audition will be a friendly, informal chat with one of our team members, that will last about 30 minutes. We want to understand what motivates you, what you already know about the music industry, and how ready you are to begin studying in Higher Education.
This audition is also a fantastic opportunity for you to ask any questions you might have about LCCM.
