LCCM is partnering with PRS for Music to offer students an exclusive mentoring opportunity with their Relationship Manager for Black Music, Kenny Barber.
On Thursday 27th November, Kenny will be running virtual 1:1s with selected students, followed up with an in-person session when he joins us on campus for Music Industry Monday on the 2nd March.
Meet Kenny Barber
Kenny Barber is the Relationship Manager for Black Music at PRS for Music, a vital organisation at the helm of royalty collection and licensing for musical artists. As part of his role, Kenny works closely with creators, breaking down how PRS can support them as artists and helping them discover practical ways to build steady streams of revenue as their careers grow.
Beyond PRS, Kenny co-runs Sonitus Music Group, managing rising R&B star Bellah and overseeing tours for names including Ragz Originale, Nippa, Loski, Fave and more. With his background as a songwriter signed to Sony Publishing, Kenny brings real creative insight and industry know-how to his mentoring.
About PRS
PRS for Music is a collective management organisation part of the wider PRS Foundation, the UK’s leading funder of new music and talent development. Representing over 180,000 songwriters and composers, they license the use of members’ music across broadcasts, live events, and more, ensuring royalties are paid to creators. PRS manages a repertoire of more than 45 million works and plays a major role in protecting the rights of music makers in the UK and beyond.
We can’t wait to welcome Kenny on campus in March. Until then, you can check out more about Kenny and PRS to see how they’re supporting artists here.
