Kevin Armstrong
Guitarist / MD, composer and producer
Kevin first made his reputation as a guitarist in the 1980s featuring on Thomas Dolby’s early albums and as musical director for David Bowie at Live Aid. He played on Iggy Pop’s Blah Blah Blah album and MD’d the touring band of 1986-87. He went on to play guitar for Prefab Sprout,
co-wrote songs and played with Morrissey, played guitar in the house band for Jonathan Ross’ Last Resort with Steve Nieve and toured Japan with Sandie Shaw and later Kevin Ayers. Kevin returned to work with Bowie on the Tin Machine album and tour and has produced two hit albums for Keziah Jones.
In the 1990s Kevin established a studio in London and now concentrates on composition and production for TV and films while still performing regularly as a guitarist in Europe and the US.
Kevin undertook production work for the second Fame Academy series for BBC TV and the attendant spin-off albums including a Bee-Gees cover album, the Winners album and co-produced tracks for winner Alex Parks Solo LP. He wrote and produced music for Trouble in Paradise for ITV, worked extensively on the Comic Relief does Fame Academy series, produced music for Derren Brown Mind Control and also produces the original content for Tesco TV’s in-store broadcasting network.
