Nick Weldon

Jazz pianist

He started building his reputation through the eighties as one of the most swinging modern players on the British Jazz Scene with long periods playing all over Britain with Tommy Chase Band, Don Weller/Brian Spring Quartet, Martin Speake Band.

He also gained extensive experience in other jazz fields. Toured and recorded in Britain and America with Joe Jackson's Jump'n Jive. Period as latin pianist with Dave Bitelli's Onward Internationals. Extensive cabaret work in France with singer James Brockington.

Currently professor of jazz piano at the Royal Academy of Music and at Trinity College of Music with individual teaching, ensemble coaching and teacher training, at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
