Christian Vaughan

Musical director, pianist and arranger

Christian Vaughan studied Jazz at the Royal Academy of Music, and since 1994 has been working as a performer, arranger and teacher. He has played alongside a wide variety of artists, including Tony Rémy, Jean Toussaint, Ray Gelato, Bobby Wellins, Dave Cliff, Larry Adler, Stacey Kent, Vanessa Rubin, Jean Carne and Karrin Allyson. His discography includes keyboard work on Jean Toussaint's "Life I Want", accordion on Tony Rémy's "Metamorfollow-G" and string arranging on the soundtrack to Mike Leigh's film, "Career Girls".

In 2001 and 2002 Christian played keyboards for the Jazz Crusaders' European tours, and 2002 also saw his debut as Musical Director for BBC Television's late night chat show, Johnny Vaughan Tonight.

Christian has taught jazz piano and coached multi-instrumental groups and vocalists at Westminster School, the Royal College of Music (Junior Dept.), the Royal Academy of Music, the Purcell School, Charterhouse School, Dulwich College, Highgate School, Morley College and the Hochschüle für Musick, Hannover.
