Pete Zeldman

Drummer

Born in New York City, Pete Zeldman is one of the most individual drummers of his time. Highly regarded by his musical contemporaries, Zeldman has taken the concept of "independence", pioneered by Elvin Jones, to new heights. By utilising a six pedal set-up and incorporating separate sound sources around his kit, Pete can get an unheard of seven ostinatos happening simultaneously. The proof is on "Other Not Elsewhere", Zeldman's astonishing re-released and remastered album - if drums are your thing then this is essential listening. Described as "listening to a hundred good drummers playing at one time", Zeldman's range is vast and he has worked with such greats as Donald Byrd, Steve Vai, International Reggae Allstars. After ten years teaching his master classes at The Drummers Collective Inc. in New York City, and being voted best teacher there, Pete Zeldman has moved his original teaching techniques to the UK. The likes of Vinnie Colaiuta, Dennis Chambers, Bob Moses and Billy Hart wanted to see what he does now you can find out how he does it.
